A Strategic Plan is a legal requirement for the Integration Joint Board (IJB) - but it is also our main vehicle for describing and measuring the actions the Health and Social Care Partnership (HSCP) will take to ensure we deliver the best services for the people of Renfrewshire with the resources we have available to us.
Throughout the period of our most recent Strategic Plan, the health and social care sector has faced an extremely challenging financial landscape. This was, and continues to be, due to increasing demand for health and social care services, an ageing population and higher costs across the country.
The uncertainty associated with these conditions has meant that our recent focus has been to look at ways we can return to a more sustainable financial position and deliver a balanced budget.
Therefore, rather than developing a completely new Strategic Plan, we believe it makes sense to refresh our current Plan for a further two years. This will allow us to continue our focus on the immediate priorities that lie ahead of us, but also continue to work towards delivering the activities that people told us were most important to them.
We have worked collaboratively with the IJB's Strategic Planning Group to develop this draft of our refreshed plan.
