Since receiving guidance from the Scottish Government and the Care Inspectorate, Renfrewshire Learning Disability Service (RLDS) have been working hard to build robust plans that fulfil the criteria required, in order to successfully re-open and increase services where we can.
The advised guidance, "Back to Business: A guide for the re-opening of day services for adults in Scotland - September 2020" was issued to Renfrewshire Health and Social Care Partnership, along with all other HSCPs in Scotland, on 31 August 2020.
RLDS are working closely with colleagues in Environment and Infrastructure services, Public Health, Health and Safety and the Care Inspectorate to ensure they have all the necessary safety requirements in place and to ensure the right staff and resources are available to enable services to reopen.
We hope to progress towards increasing day and respite services by late-October/early-November, with RLDS completing all required submissions to Public Health Scotland by mid-October. It should however be acknowledged, that these plans may be subject to any further changes in guidance from the Scottish Government.
Renfrewshire Learning Disability Service has been operating a much reduced 4-tier service during the COVID-19 pandemic, providing some community outreach and day respite support from two of our buildings, which will continue alongside these plans.
Ahead of re-opening, we are developing a series of short supporting service videos. These videos aim to provide additional information for supported people on how individual services will look.
Community Network have created an information film, that will give an indication of what buildings and services will look like -
We recognise this continues to be a difficult and challenging time and we would like to again thank you for your support and patience, as we take the necessary time to plan for the safe increase to services.
Please contact any of our day services or the Community Integrated team (0141 207 7800) if you require additional support.
